We gave them a very challenging reverse engineering project that had intimidated most of the engineers, machinists, and manufacturers who'd looked at these for the past 136 years, the Merwin Hulbert 1878-1882 model revolvers with only original revolvers to work from. Not only did they do an exceptional job of analyzing and turning it into useful CAD, there was considerable value engineering thought put in by all of the crew at Salient that made it far more than a drafting project. They considered purpose, function, durability, safety, likely points of wear, standardization for manufacturing, manufacturability, historical fidelity, aesthetics, etc. and considered them simultaneously which greatly helped keep the project on track.

They're fast and careful which is almost impossible to find and cheerful in the face of uncertainty like only the best engineers are.

- Al Jones, Division Head, Merwin Hulbert & Co.; CFO, Sharps Rifle Company
